A few things to know
before you visit.
What vehicles do you service?
We service most makes and models, imports and domestics, as well as hybrids and electric vehicles. Domestic makes include Buick, Chevrolet, Ford, Dodge, GMC, Jeep, Plymouth and Ram. Call us if you have a question about your vehicle.
Can I drop off my car after hours?
Yes. Park on the street near the shop. Fill out an envelope from the mailbox next to the door, place your key inside, and drop it through the slot in the front door. We also offer after-hours pick-up. Call us to arrange your visit.
What warranty do you offer?
We offer a 36 month / 36,000 mile warranty. If the same issue comes back after service, return to our shop and we’ll handle the problem.
Can I wait, or get help with transportation?
You can wait at our family- and dog-friendly shop with free WiFi. Please allow a few hours for service. If you’re dropping off, leave your car for at least one day. We can arrange a Lyft or offer bus tickets, too.
How do I request an appointment?
Choose three possible dates and a preferred time on our appointment page. An advisor will contact you to confirm. For urgent needs, call or text 503-234-2119.

Welcome to Hawthorne Auto Clinic! Since opening our doors in 1983, we've helped vehicle owners across Portland, Oregon, and the surrounding areas navigate their automotive issues. We Do It All!
Our shop is a full-service auto repair center that offers a full suite of services. Some of these services include general repair, preventative maintenance, brake repair, tune-ups, transmission repair, engine repairs, and more. We also offer a 36 Month/36,000 Mile warranty, so know that our team has your back well after service with us is over. And once your service gets going, we make sure to keep you updated via email or text if you leave our shop or in person if you choose to stay. We can also help arrange transportation options if you decide to leave during service so that you can continue with your day with limited hassle.

We opened our doors over 40 years ago with the mission of offering quality repairs counsel. We believe that by having a diverse shop atmosphere, we can offer our customers a unique perspective when it comes both to the customer and service experiences. Half of our team includes females who possess many years of technical experience, some of whom have even been technicians previously. We are able to explain complex repairs without making people feel overwhelmed or confused with technical jargon.
